Feel Good Inside and Out with These 4 Daily Rituals!

March 15, 20243 min read

Busyness has somehow become a way of life for so many of us. But that doesn’t mean we should sacrifice our health because of it. Focusing on our health should be a top priority and it can be with a shift in our thinking and small changes in our habits.

(I sometimes include affiliate links, which means I might make a small commission off any purchases you make, at no additional cost to you. You can read my full disclosure here.)

Get Some Exercise

I think most of us fight this tip the most, but regular exercise is key to not only staying healthy but living a more rewarding life. I sit at a desk all day and it’s so tempting to just work, work, work when the kids are at school. But the days I set an alarm every hour and walk for 15 minutes are the days I feel the best and honestly, the days I feel most productive.

If you want a really great workout that you can squeeze in in 5-10 minutes, try rebounding. This is one of my favorite ways to get in a small but powerful workout. But the important thing is to find activities you enjoy doing and that get your heart rate up.

You don’t have to get a gym membership, but some certainly prefer working out at a gym. If you like the outdoors then you can always try biking, swimming, walking, hiking, or running. Start with 5 minutes a day then do a little more each week. Before you know it, you’ll find yourself looking forward to it!

Cook at Home

If you’re going to spend the time working on your body with exercise, you should take care to fuel it with proper foods. When you eat healthy you’ll find that you have more natural energy. One way to do this is to eat at home. When you take the time to meal plan and shop yourself, you are more in control of what you put in your mouth. Not to mention it’s a far easier way to stay on budget.

If you aren’t used to cooking at home, there are an abundance of recipes online for you to experiment with. For example, you may want to try these air fryer bell peppers; they’re an easy start to a gourmet-looking meal. Cooking can be a very mindful and rewarding activity if you take your time and enjoy the process of making delicious recipes.

Nurture Your Mental Health

Busy lives usually lead to stress and stress is not something we want lingering. Your mental health is just as important as your physical health and needs just as much attention. If you feel yourself struggling with stress, there are effective ways to combat stress.

Guided meditation is one, but I prefer doing yoga. It’s a wonderful way to work on your mental health and exercise, which is a win-win for my busy life! You may also want to keep a journal and start writing out a gratitude list. When you focus on your mental health, it’s amazing how everything else in life feels more rewarding.

Make Sleep A Priority

Another tip for a healthier and more rewarding lifestyle is to make sure you are getting plenty of rest and sleep. If you aren’t sleeping well or long enough, all the rest of these tips won’t do you much good.

Don’t be afraid to put your feet up and take naps on the weekends when you have some free time. Also, configure your bedroom for optimal sleep by making sure the room is dark enough and by investing in a comfortable mattress. Ideally, you should be going to bed and waking up around the same time each day. Also, engage in a relaxing bedtime routine such as reading a book or drinking tea instead of being glued to your electronics.

If you find yourself struggling night after night to sleep, one or more of these things could be the culprit.

Get Some Exercise

I think most of us fight this tip the most, but regular exercise is key to not only staying healthy but living a more rewarding life. I sit at a desk all day and it’s so tempting to just work, work, work when the kids are at school.
